Fear today is everywhere. In fact, I don’t think that most people have any idea how fearful they are on a daily basis. Everyone understands the typical fears such as speaking in public, being interviewed, taking a test, heights. We can readily admit when we encounter these fears. They are commonplace and acceptable.

But what other fears are there that you may not realize you have? Fears that could be taking hold and controlling the outcomes of your life.

Fear can go my many names. You may not even realize you are in a state of fear so let’s look at some ways to identify this.

How Fear Controls You

Well first of all, fear prevents you from having the life you were meant to live. How heartbreaking is that. What life do you think you should be living? How far off are you from your purpose in life? Are you taking a long detour from what you are meant to do?


Additionally, let’s think about how this affects the people around you. When you are overcome with fear and it is not warranted for the situation, it causes those close to you to feel overwhelmed and stressed. They may even start avoiding you.

How many decisions in life have you made out of fear?

When fear takes over, you are no longer living the life you were meant to live. You are stuck, not progressing, not moving forward in life.
