How to Use Safely
Just one drop of essential oil is equal to 15-40 cups of medicinal tea! The high concentration means that proper dilution is necessary:
Dilution can depend on the size and health of the child, but a good rule of thumb is a 1% dilution. This would be about 6-9 drops of essential oil in 1 ounce (30ml) of carrier oil for topical application.
I often use coconut oil as a carrier oil because I always have some on hand. This is my favorite coconut oil. You can put the mixture in a roll-on bottle or store in a container. For a full selection of high quality carrier oils, Click HERE .
For diffusing, use 2-3 drops per 100ml of water. Only diffuse for about 15-30 minutes at at time.
Here are some other guidelines:
Do not use on infants
Do not ingest internally
Do not apply topically to the skin under 2 years old
Do not diffuse oils around children under 6 months old
Do not apply to eyes or ears
Always use 100% pure essential oils, never synthetic
Discontinue use if there is a rash or any other adverse effect
If you are looking for pre-diluted roll-ons, Plant Therapy makes some great ones so you don’t have to worry about diluting it yourself. This definitely makes it easy!
